The Scope

The CellMAT – International Conference on Cellular Materials – established in 2010 and held in a two years term, is becoming more and more important for the cellular materials community. The unique character is that the broad variety of all material classes are addressed in a single conference; the bracket is their cellular structure and resulting properties, which make them suitable for novel applications.

Over the last years, the number of young scientists has grown, and this is beneficial for the entire community. In order to allow for this enjoyable aspect, we will organize, for the first time at the Cellmat 2020, a seminar for young researchers dealing with specific methods of processing and characterization of cellular materials, right a day before the CellMAT starts. Scientists in charge are welcome to send young researchers from their groups to this international seminar.

The scope of the CellMAT conference will remain as in the years before; it is to bring together experts from the polymer, ceramic, glass and metal communities from industry, research institutes and academia, dealing with cellular materials of all classes or combinations thereof. Thus, it will focus on all aspects of manufacturing, functionalizing, modification, joining, property analysis and modelling of cellular materials. International experts will give keynote/invited lectures about applications in the automotive industry and transportation, in mechanical engineering, for chemical and energy systems, for environmental purposes or for micro and medical devices and functions. The three-days conference comes up as a discussion panel for researchers, manufacturers, and users of cellular materials. During the conference, the best three posters will be honoured.

The 6th CellMAT is again organized in cooperation with our colleges from Fraunhofer IFAM, Dresden; and the next one Cellmat conference, to be held in 2022, will take place in Dresden, thus we will alternate the conference locations every two years.

We cordially invite you to join the CellMAT 2020 conference, to share your experience in cellular materials with your fellow colleagues.
